Pale Lantern Media is an independent studio that creates original animated horror stories. Each episode is a fully animated cartoon drawn in a comic-book art style, with bold ink, heavy shadows, and vivid color, paired with voice acting and immersive sound design. It’s the look of a classic horror comic with the motion and pacing of a horror film.

Who’s Behind the Lantern

Pale Lantern Media is written and edited by Timothy Prestianni, with contributions from writers Kat Goss and Olivia Grace, and lead animator Mostafa Ahmed.

Why We Make Horror This Way

Horror comics had a style all their own: exaggerated faces, dripping shadows, and monsters drawn to be remembered. Live-action horror can’t quite capture that, and most animation doesn’t try. We wanted to see that style in full motion, so we built a studio to make it. Every Pale Lantern episode is a horror comic that finally moves.

What Makes a Pale Lantern Episode

Original stories. Every story is written in-house. Full animation. Characters, creatures, and environments are animated scene by scene, not built from still images. Comic-book art direction. A distinct, illustrated look you won’t confuse with anyone else’s. Sound that creeps. Voices, ambiance, and effects designed to build dread.
